Nipissing University president resigns for new post in Yukon
GeneralNipissing University’s Board of Governors announced today that President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mike DeGagné, is stepping down to become the president of Yukon University. DeGagné will remain President of Nipissing until June 30.
“Dr. DeGagné has been an exceptional leader and has left a permanent mark on the university and broader community especially for his tireless work in the area of Indigenous education,” said Board Chair, Tom Palangio. “On behalf of the Board, I’d like to thank Dr. DeGagné for his leadership, integrity, and commitment to the University over the past seven years and wish him all the best in his new role.” -

GeneralThe International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (IDERD) was established by the United Nations in 1966 to commemorate the Sharpeville Massacre of 1960. It is observed every March 21 to bring the world community together to increase its efforts in the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination and racism (United Nations, Resolution 2142, XX1).
