Important Note to All Applicants
All students must complete the application and indicate their residence preference. Included in the online residence application, is a questionnaire that asks specific questions about your lifestyle, sleep, and study habits. Please answer these questions completely and honestly, as the information you provide will be used to match you with suitable roommates. Although Nipissing staff try to accommodate students' first choice, it may be necessary to place some students in their second or third choice of residence.
Students who are in need of housing mid-semester are encouraged to reach out to the Residence Life department to inquire about availability.
Residences accommodations are available to students enrolled in an Undergraduate program, a Post Baccalaureate program, the Schulich School of Education 2-year Bachelor of Education program or Graduate Studies program. Please note each accommodation is single occupancy only and we do not offer family housing.

Residence applications can be accessed once you have received an offer of admission from the Registrar’s Office. Click HERE to access the eRezlife application.
If a student wishes to live in residence for the winter semester (January to April), they will be required to submit a residence application and pay a $400 Residence deposit. Click HERE to access the residence application.
Space is limited in residence for the Winter term, therefore we encourage applicants to submit their application and pay their $400 deposit as soon as possible. Completed and paid applications are processed in late November and placement notifications are sent out in early December.

Please note, if you are applying to live in residence for the winter semester, please identify yourself as a winter cohort by choosing "One Semester Occupant - Winter Occupant" option in the Type of Student 2025/26 field.

Whether you're enrolled in summer courses, doing an internship, or simply seeking a clean, comfortable, safe, and fun place to stay, our residence offers a welcoming, air-conditioned environment.
We offer an opportunity for students to live in our Chancellors House residence complex over the Spring/Summer semesters. Spaces are available May 3rd, 2025 to August 3rd, 2025, with extended terms available for academic requirements. Students currently living in residence can apply to extend their stay in their current room or suite until their summer accommodation is ready. This means no need to find temporary housing or move twice.
Students planning to return to residence in the fall will be eligible for an extension to stay beyond August 3rd, at a pro-rated cost based on the competitive rates listed on our rates page.
To apply to live in residence over the 2025 Spring/Summer semester please complete the Spring/Summer application on your eRezlife portal. Please note that to complete your application you must make a $150 summer residence deposit.
Step by Step Payment Instructions
Online Banking: The easiest way to make the $150.00 Residence deposit payment is to pay it using online banking. To do this you would log into your personal online banking account and click on Bill Payments, then click on Add A Payee. You can add Nipissing University as a new payee. It will ask you for an account number, please enter your 7-digit Nipissing Student ID number. (Please note that online payments cannot be made with credit card). Once you make your payment it will take approximately 2 business days to post to your student account.
Mailing a Cheque or Money Order: You can mail a cheque or money order directly to the Finance Office. Please ensure you enter your full name and Nipissing Student Id # on the cheque/money order.

Paying directly in the Finance Office: Students can make payments directly in the Finance Office in F216. Hours of operation – Monday to Friday 10AM to 4PM
The $150.00 residence deposit includes a non-refundable $30.00 application fee. Please Note: A portion of your residence deposit in the amount of $100.00 is refundable if you cancel your application after receiving a placement notification. Students who wish to cancel their application should log into their eRezlife portal and withdraw their application.
NOTE: When students are assigned a room placement in residence, they are responsible for the FULL PAYMENT of their residence fees for the contract period.
