Advanced Technology Diploma

Technology Diploma to Honours Bachelor of Commerce

Graduates of any three-year Technology diploma program from George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce with transfer credit to a maximum of 51 credits


Technology Diploma to Bachelor of Commerce (three year)

Graduates of any three-year Technology diploma program from George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (three-year degree) with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.

Behavioural Science (two-year diploma)

Behavioural Science Technician to Bachelor of Arts (Child and Family Studies)

Graduates of a Behavioural Science two-year college diploma program at an accredited Ontario College with a cumulative average equivalent to 70% or better be considered for admission to the BA Honours Specialization, Specialization or a four-year Major in Child & Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum 45 credits.

Behavioural Science (three-year diploma)

Behavioural Science Technology to Bachelor of Arts (Child and Family Studies)

Graduates of a Behavioural Science three-year advanced college diploma program at an accredited Ontario College with a cumulative average equivalent to 70% or better be considered for admission to the BA Honours Specialization, Specialization or a four-year Major in Child & Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum 60 credits.

Business (two-year diploma)

Business to Honours Bachelor of Business Administration

Graduates of a two-year Business diploma at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 72 percent will can be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree with transfer credits to a maximum of 42 credits. Admitted students would be able to complete their program at Nipissing University in North Bay.


Business to Honours Bachelor of Commerce

Graduates of a two-year Business diploma at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits. Admitted students would be able to complete their program online as an independent learner.


Business to Bachelor of Commerce (three-year degree)

Graduates of a two-year Business diploma at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (three-year degree) with transfer credits to a maximum of 30 credits. Admitted students would be able to complete their program online as an independent learner.

Business Administration (three-year diploma)

Business Administration to Honours Bachelor of Commerce

Graduates of a three-year Business Administration diploma at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree program with transfer credits to a maximum of 60 credits. Admitted students would be able to complete their program online as an independent learner.


Business Administration to Bachelor of Commerce (three-year degree)

Graduates of a three-year Business Administration diploma at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (three-year degree) with transfer credits to a maximum of 45 credits. Admitted students would be able to complete their program online as an independent learner.

Child & Youth Care

Child & Youth Care to Bachelor of Arts (Child and Family Studies)

Graduates of a three-year Child and Youth Care diploma program at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to a four-year Honours Bachelor of Arts in Child and Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum of 60 credits.

Graduates of a three-year Child and Youth Care diploma program at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to a three-year Bachelor of Arts in Child and Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.


Child & Youth Care to Bachelor of Arts (Sociology)

Graduates of the Child & Youth Care diploma program at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to an Honours Specialization, Specialization or four-year Major in Sociology with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.


Child & Youth Care to Bachelor of Arts Programs

Graduates of the Child and Youth Care diploma program at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to Bachelor of Arts programs with transfer credit to a maximum of 30 credits.


Child Youth Care to Honours Bachelor of Social Work

Graduates of a Child & Youth Care diploma program at George Brown College with a program average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program with transfer credit to a maximum of 30 credits.

During Year 2 of the Bachelor of Social Work program, students must apply for admission consideration to the professional years (Years 3 & 4) of the program. Admission to the first or second year of the Bachelor of Social Work program does not guarantee acceptance into the professional years.

Early Childhood Education

Early Childhood Education to Bachelor of Arts (Child and Family Studies)

Graduates of the Early Childhood Education diploma program at George Brown College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Arts Honours Specialization, Specialization or four-year Major in Child & Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.


Early Childhood Education to Bachelor of Arts (Sociology)

Graduates of the Early Childhood Education diploma program at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to an Honours Specialization, Specialization or four-year Major in Sociology with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.


Early Childhood Education to Bachelor of Arts Programs

Graduates of the Early Childhood Education diploma program at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to Bachelor of Arts programs with transfer credit to a maximum of 30 credits.

Graphic Design

Graphic Design to Fine Arts (BFA or BA)

Graduates of an advanced three-year diploma program in Graphic Design from George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or the Bachelor of Arts (BA) Major or Specialization in Fine Arts (Studio stream) program with transfer credit to a maximum of 54 credits.

Practical Nursing (for Employed Registered Practical Nurses only)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Nipissing University offers currently employed Registered Practical Nurses the opportunity to complete the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree through a blended delivery option. Admission consideration will be given to applicants who have successfully completed a two-year Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) diploma (not certificate) from George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 70 percent.

Applicants must also be a current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario (CNO) as an RPN and be an employee (with a letter of support) of one Nipissing’s partner health care agencies.

This is a limited enrolment program. The minimum GPA required for admission consideration may be higher than the stated minimum. There are two intakes per year (January and September).

Social Service Worker

Social Service Worker to Bachelor of Arts (Child and Family Studies)

Graduates of the Social Service Worker diploma program at George Brown College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Arts Honours Specialization, Specialization or four-year Major in Child & Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.


Social Service Worker to Bachelor of Arts (Social Welfare and Social Development)

Graduates of the Social Service Worker diploma program at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to an Honours Specialization or Specialization in Social Welfare and Social Development with transfer credit as follows:

  • 70 percent program average - 30 credits
  • 75 percent program average - 36 credits
  • 80 percent program average - 45 credits
  • 85 percent program average - 60 credits

Social Service Worker to Bachelor of Arts (Sociology)

Graduates of the Social Service Worker diploma program at George Brown College with an overall program average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to an Honours Specialization, Specialization or four-year Major in Sociology with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.
