Homecoming Weekend - October 4-6
AlumniAthleticsGeneralOpen to the public and for all ages, Nipissing University spirit and North Bay pride will be on full display on October 5th when the Nipissing Lakers Women’s Varsity Hockey Team will be playing Laurentian University at Memorial Gardens at 7:30PM for a Homecoming game. Immediately after the game, there will be a fireworks performance sponsored by the City of North Bay. Tickets are available from Memorial Gardens. -

NU grad’s art showcased in library atrium
AlumniThe Harris Learning Library atrium is currently featuring a mixed media installation by Nipissing Bachelor of Fine Arts alumna, Caitlyn Marion (BFA’18). The installation was completed as part of Marion’s final assignments for her degree and was originally displayed in the WKP Kennedy Gallery in downtown North Bay. -
Nipissing honouring three with Alumni Awards
AlumniNipissing University is honouring three exceptional individuals at the annual Alumni Awards celebration: Jennifer Conley (nee Seguin), Chief Advancement Officer and President and CEO of the Carleton University Foundation, is receiving the Dr. James Jamieson Influential Alumni Award; Annie Sumi, singer-songwriter and ethereal-folk artist, receives the Rising Star Alumni Award; and Dr. Matti Saari, Professor of Psychology, will be named an Honorary Alumni. -
Grad piloting successful program in Nunavut
AlumniMy NipissingSchulich School of EducationA secondary school in Nunavut is piloting a successful new program, titled ESTEEM, promoting emotional health and personal growth for students, while boosting attendance. It was developed by Nipissing graduate and school principal, Romeo Fournier (BEd’08, MEd’11) with a team of Inuit and non-Inuit staff.
