About
Jocelyn is currently the Manager for Child & Youth Mental Health Services along with the Coordinated Service Planning and Youth Justice Committee programs at Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions. She completed her BA in Social Development Studies at the University of Waterloo and graduated with her BSW and MSW from York University. Jocelyn is a Registered Social Worker with a professional background in Child Protection, Children & Youth Mental Health, Complex Special Needs and Youth Justice. Jocelyn began her career at The Children's Aid Society of Nipissing/Parry Sound as an Ongoing Family Service Worker. After 5 years in North Bay, personal life circumstances moved her family to Muskoka where she began work with Family, Youth and Child Services of Muskoka, now known as Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions. There, Jocelyn worked as Child in Care Worker, supporting children and youth in the care of the CAS, ensuring that their physical, emotional and mental health needs were met. Jocelyn then moved into Child & Youth Mental Health and worked as an Intensive Service Therapist working with at risk students in a local high school and with children, youth and families in their homes and community. Jocelyn has provided services to individual children & youth, to their parents/caregivers, to families as a unit and through group programming. In her direct service work and clinical supervision, Jocelyn relies on a number of therapeutic approaches/models (ie. Narrative therapy, CBT, DBT, DDP). As Manager of Service, she provides clinical supervision and consultation to registered social workers, registered psychotherapists (RPs) and service planning coordinators. Jocelyn has been involved in a number of community projects and service area redesigns of CYMH services and programming. In a small CYMH/CSP/YJC organization, Jocelyn works with and informs the management of service provision, data collection, budget and staffing. Jocelyn works hard to be collaborative and curious in her work with families, staff, colleagues, and community service providers.
