Lakers men’s hockey gives back to Nipissing community
My NipissingThe Nipissing Men's Laker hockey team continued the tradition of making a donation to the student food bank again this year.In partnership with Mike and Laurie Sheehan from No Frills McKeon the Lakers donated over 600 pounds of food to our student food bank. Through small fund raising efforts the players are happy to be able to help their fellow students out. -

For Rebecca Wakelin, the path to becoming an educator, and ultimately a leader in higher education development, began unexpectedly. Raised in Northern Ontario, Wakelin’s childhood dream was to become a lawyer. However, while applying to universities, she included Nipissing University’s Bachelor of Education program as a fourth choice, influenced by her roommates pursuing teaching.
