Nipissing professor Anna Przednowek receives the Violence Against Women Coordinating Dedication Award for Exceptional Service

Nipissing University is proud to celebrate Anna Przednowek, Assistant Professor of Social Work, who has been honoured with the Violence Against Women Coordinating Committee (VAWCC) Dedication Award. This prestigious recognition, presented during Women Abuse Prevention Month, highlighted Przednowek’s exceptional commitment as a practitioner, researcher and educator in this field.

The VAWCC is a community-based organization dedicated to enhancing the safety and well-being of women and children affected by intimate partner violence. By fostering inter-agency cooperation among social and justice systems, the VAWCC aims to provide seamless and responsive support to those impacted by such violence.

Reflecting on the award, Przednowek expressed her gratitude and commitment to continued progress. “This recognition is deeply humbling and represents the collective effort of so many dedicated individuals working to support survivors and create safer communities. I am honoured to be part of this work and remain committed to advocating for meaningful change.”

The VAWCC Dedication Award celebrates individuals and groups who make meaningful contributions to the lives of victims of intimate partner violence and those advocating to end all forms of violence against women. Przednowek’s impactful work embodies the essence of this award, reflecting her unwavering compassion and dedication.
