New publication on nursing education during pandemic
Faculty in the School of Nursing have published a new paper in the Clinical Simulation in Nursing journal titled "P Stands for Pivot: Pivoting Face-to-Face Practicum to Virtual Simulation during the Pandemic".
The publication presents an overview of the use of virtual simulation in clinical practicum courses during the COVID-19 pandemic and describes the principles agreed upon in the School of Nursing to replace clinical hours with the use of virtual simulation. The paper proposes a safe, practical, and virtual environment with the aim of fostering clinical competence, self-confidence, reflective practice, teamwork, and collaboration during unprecedented times.
The paper was authored by Dr. Laurie Peachey, Dr. Tammie McParland, Dr. Sandra Goldsworthy and Dr. Veronika Williams.
