Students working with ADIDAS in Germany
A group of 10 students from Nipissing University are travelling to Bayreuth, Germany, to work with and consult multinational sportswear powerhouse ADIDAS at their global head office.
The Nipissing students will work in collaboration with teams of students from Ohio University and the University of Bayreuth on a two-week project to solve a real problem ADIDAS is facing. The project will be revealed to them in a high-level meeting with ADIDAS management.
The trip is part of a special third-year iLead course, taught by Dr. John Nadeau, associate professor in the school of business. The course also includes a pre-departure section that discusses consulting skills and German cultural differences.
“The students are getting a wonderful opportunity to experience international business in an entirely immersive environment,” said Nadeau. “They’ll be collaborating in teams with students from Germany and the United States, using the theories and skills they’ve learned about in class and applying them to a specially selected problem that ADIDAS is currently faced with. The prospect of working with a leading global brand like ADIDAS is remarkable. I’m very pleased that we are able to offer experiential learning opportunities such as this to our students. It will definitely be an asset to their career as business professionals.”
The students will be in Germany June 2 – 16. Look for regular Twitter updates from the group through Nipissing’s Twitter feed: @NipissingU.
