Silver celebrations rolling with spirit and cookies

The party has officially launched for Nipissing University’s 25th Anniversary as an independent degree granting institution.Nipissing officially turns 25 on December 10, 2017, and you can look forward to a year of celebrations and events to mark the occasion.

First on the celebratory slate was a spirit day last Friday celebrating Nipissing. People were encouraged to show their Laker pride by wearing blue and green and/or Nipissing clothing. At noon in the Nipissing Cafeteria, judges awarded Lina Hunter, Admission and Enrolment Services Coordinator, with the award for most spirited staffer. The award earned Hunter a prize pack, featuring a movie prize pack, courtesy of the Social Committee.

Friday night and Saturday morning, university staff and students were out to spread good vibes and promote the anniversary, handing out more than 1,000 Lakers branded cookies to the patrons of the North Bay mall.

More events to celebrate Nipissing’s 25th Anniversary will be on the horizon in the new year, so keep your party shoes handy.
