Meet Student Leader Jacob Baisley
Nipissing students consistently impress as leaders, in the classroom, on campus and in the community. Recently, the university celebrated 25 student leaders at the annual Dave Marshall Leadership Awards. Over the coming months, NU News will introduce each student leader to the wider community with a short article discussing their accomplishments and activities. Today, we are pleased profile Jacob Baisley, a fourth-year Bachelor of Education student and Dave Marshall Leadership Award winner in the campus category.
Baisley has been a Research Assistant, Frosh Leader, Frosh Coordinator, NUSU Crew member, Math Club co-organizer, and Math Circles volunteer.
Baisley is committed to helping students both on campus and in the community. He has impacted the community through leading Math Circles, a volunteer program that hosts children from local schools at Nipissing on weekends for math enrichment activities. On campus, Jacob has influenced students through introducing important conversations about the topic of consent into Frosh week programming.
In all of his roles, Jacob has demonstrated effective leadership in his ability to talk to anyone with kindness, empathy, and respect.
The Dave Marshall Leadership Award recognizes full-time students who have made an outstanding extra-curricular contribution to their academic program, to the campus, or to the greater community. Campus recipients are selected in recognition of their ability to: enhance campus culture, create a sense of community on campus, and empower others to get involved.
