NU welcomes prospective students

Prospective students and their families are invited to discover everything that Nipissing University has to offer this week as the university rolls out the welcome mat during March Open House, Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21.Nipissing will welcome about 320 students plus their families and friends from all across Ontario to the North Bay campus for the annual event, running from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore the campus, tour state-of-the-art laboratories and discuss academic programs and student services with Nipissing faculty, staff and current students.
Current Nipissing students will be providing tours of their university, showcasing the facilities and sharing their own experiences of life at Nipissing. Tours include visiting Nipissing’s top-rated residences, the award-winning library and the brand new athletics centre. Students and parents will have their questions answered concerning admissions, academic programs, administration and much more.
“March Open House provides an opportunity for prospective students to learn more about the programs and services Nipissing has to offer,” says Gemma Victor, manager of student recruitment. “It provides an opportunity to explore our residences, facilities, and innovative research labs, and speak with future professors, current students and staff.  Students truly get to experience why they belong at Nipissing University.  This event is very important in the decision making process for prospective students, over 50 per cent of students who visit our campus will choose Nipissing.”
Last Saturday, Nipissing’s Muskoka Campus hosted a successful Open House, welcoming 10 eager students looking for a small campus university experience.
