Congratulations to Nipissing’s Dr. Aroha Page, associate professor of Nursing on her accomplishments in the Canadian Associations of Schools of Nursing (CASN) and College of Nurses Ontario (CNO).
CASN has selected Dr. Page to be an eHealth Peer Leader.  Peer Leaders provide feedback on the development of consumer health resources for nursing faculty, and assist in the creation of an eHealth Peer Network for Nursing faculty to allow for mentoring from schools across Canada.

She has also been appointed CASN-Infoway eHealth Peer Leaders Task Force Operational Committee.

“Looking back, I can see how far nursing education and pedagogy has advanced.  I find it exhilarating to be a part of advancing nursing education via the medium of these salient committees,” said Dr. Page.

The Association has also named Dr. Page chair of the inaugural Palliative and End-of-Life Care Nurse Educators Interest Group (PEOLC).

PEOLC is one of three special interest groups launched by the CASN to provide a forum for members across Canada who share a common area of interest and expertise.

Dr. Page has also been appointed to the CNO Academic Advisory Committee, a diverse group of nurses focused on applications of the standards in their practice. The Academic Advisory committee will identify proprieties and provide sector specific feedback related to CNO products and services.

“I am excited at the prospect of continuing these interests for 21st Century nursing as we prepare students for the incredible changes and pace of change in health care sectors.  Having your finger on the pulse of trends and changing conditions in academic education is very rewarding in itself. I am proud as it highlights our NU/SON on the provincial and national landscape.”
