Nipissing screening De-Railed

Nipissing University will screen the documentary De-Railed: The National Dream; a film about the crumbling state of the Canadian railway system, on May 8, 2013, at 7 p.m. in the Nipissing University Theatre (F213). The event also includes a discussion with filmmaker Dan Nystedt and Algoma University associate professor Linda Savory-Gordon, whose research explores how passenger rail service shapes communities.Nipissing First Nation Chief Marianna Couchie will provide opening remarks.
The screening is presented by Form Productions, in association with The Coalition for Algoma Passenger Trains and the NORDIK Institute (a joint project of Algoma University and Community Economic and Social Development).
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Savory-Gordon recently participated in the Life in 2030 event that took place at Science North in Sudbury and was organized by the Council of Ontario Universities’ Research Matters campaign.For more information on Savory-Gordon’s research, click here.
