Beedle commits to Nipissing

Lakers women’s volleyball head coach Marc LaRochelle is pleased to announce the commitment of Tabby Beedle, who will be enrolled in the concurrent education program at Nipissing University beginning in the Fall of 2013.The London, Ontario, native is a 5’2” Libero/Defensive Specialist. Beedle played high school volleyball at Oakridge Secondary School, where she captured WOSSA gold in2 011/12. She received the Nancy Wolfeden Volleyball Award and was team captain in 2010.
Beedle also played club volleyball for the perennial powerhouse Forrest City Volleyball Club and in her last season (2012) captured numerous OVA medals throughout the year highlighted by an OVA U18 premiere provincial silver medal.
“I decided on Nipissing because of the excellent Geography program and the northern location allows for a great hands-on experience,” said Beedle. “The small class sizes and familiarity students have with professors will help me succeed. I am also looking forward to pushing myself as the Lakers volleyball team enters the OUA in the fall.”
“Tabby has certainly played for some very strong volleyball programs which contributed to her strong technical skills,” said head coach Marc LaRochelle. “Tabby’s challenge will be to get back in competition mode after being off the court for a year; however, her strong work ethic and desire to compete will no doubt push her towards her goals.”
The Lakers OUA schedule is now complete and the Lakers will begin OUA play at home against the Waterloo Warriors October 18 at 6 p.m. followed by the Guelph Gryphons the following evening at the same time.
