Three Nipissing shows at WKP Kennedy Gallery

North Bay’s WKP Kennedy Gallery is the place to be this Friday, April 13, from 7 – 9 p.m. for a three-headed opening reception highlighting the work of Nipissing University students, faculty and staff.The gallery is hosting three exhibitions of Nipissing art until April 19, 2012.
The BFA Graduate Exhibition 2012, showcases work from the graduating class of Nipissing’s Bachelor of Fine Arts program.  Twelve talented students: Ben Barak, Christine Charette, Emily Evans, Laurel Gough, Ginger Irwin, Lesley Lane, Brittany Lee, Carissa MacIntosh, Kelsey Russell, Whitney Ruttan, Nick Scarfone, and Allison Smith will be exhibiting a selection of artworks that they have been developing this year.
The Fine Arts, Visual Arts 2012 Annual Juried Exhibition highlights the range and quality of work produced by Nipissing's Fine Arts students.  It includes a diverse range of concepts and styles in a variety of media and disciplines, including drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture.  The works have been carefully selected through a juried process.
The BEd’s show, We Practice What We Preach, represents an exhibition of artwork by students, staff, and faculty in the Schulich School of Education.  The focus of the exhibition is to show the community that teachers can be multi-talented individuals who work in a variety of media. The participants hail from all over Ontario. This year is the 11th anniversary for We Practice What We Preach.Admission and refreshments are free. All are welcome.
The Arts Community of North Bay has also organized a Downtown Gallery Hop on April 13, from 7 – 9 p.m., with nine separate locations participating and an after party at Le Bon Marche.
