The Nipissing Lakers hockey team is pleased to announce that Brett Cook will be attending Nipissing University beginning this September.
Cook, a six-foot, 193-pound defenceman, from Washago, Ontario, played five years of Major Jr. A hockey with the Erie Otters and London Knights.  His tenure with the Knights this past season includes 19 playoff games during the team’s OHL championship run and Memorial Cup entry. While theShawinigan Cataractes took home the trophy, Cook certainly gleaned some valuable experience which can only benefit the Lakers.

"I'm really looking forward to coming to Nipissing and playing for the Lakers. There’s a good group of players here and they’ve achieved a lot already.  Hopefully I can help the team challenge for a championship,” said Cook.  “As well as playing for the Lakers, I’m planning on pursuing my degree in Criminal Justice and Nipissing has a great Criminal Justice program.”
