Tour Darwin’s England with Dr. Nosko
Biology professor, Peter Nosko is extending an open invitation to all members of the university community to take part in a personally designed private tour of Darwin’s England.
The tour takes place in May 2012, giving you plenty of time to adapt your schedule. It is inspired by Nosko’s presentations relating to the life and travels of British naturalist, Charles Darwin, famous for his theories on evolution.
In partnership with EF Tours, the trip encompasses a wide variety of activities appealing to both the historian and tourist. The itinerary includes a trip to Manchester; visits to the Cambridge University Botanical Gardens, The Museum of Zoology, London’s Natural History Museum, Kew Gardens, and guided sightseeing tours of Westminster Abbey, Christ Church and the River Cam.
The tour also stops in at Down House, Darwin’s home, where visitors can see the study where he wrote On the Origin of Species. While there, guest can stroll through the extensive gardens that so inspired the great scientist.
The nine-day tour also stops in at Charles Darwin’s birthplace in Shrewsbury, England.
Travelers can also enjoy free time in London, one of the world’s greatest cities offering everything from Shakespearean plays, castles and shopping to pubs, the London Eye and rock and roll.
Space is limited, so book soon. The cost of the trip is $3,191. ($2,560. + departure fees) for students and $3,581 for adults. The cost includes flight, transportation in the UK, all breakfasts and suppers and any admission costs.
