Paved trail coming to College Drive
Thanks to a recent agreement with the City of North Bay, Nipissing University students, faculty, staff and visitors will soon have a multi-use trail constructed along College Drive.
The four-metre wide trail will be built along the east side of the street as part of a multi-million dollar project to bring municipal water services to the Cedar Heights area.
Nipissing is allowing a pumping station to be built on university property near Monastery Road. In exchange, the city will construct the trail.
The entire project is expected to cost approximately $8 million. The city is hoping that the federal and provincial governments will cover most of the costs.
Construction is slated to begin next spring.
Details of the pumping station, including location and design, have yet to be finalized.
