Geden to discuss his works
Nipissing University is pleased to announce that Dr. Dennis Geden will be discussing his work on October 26 at 1 p.m. as part of the Artist Talk Series presented by the Fine Arts department.
The discussion takes place in room M106 at Monastery Hall.
Geden was born and lives in North Bay, travelling to major art centres regularly to keep up with his profession. Currently Chair of Nipissing'sFine Arts department, Geden is also actively researching and creating work as a visual artist. Geden studied at Sir George Williams' School of Art in Montreal - now part of the Concordia Fine Arts Program. Teaching in studio fine arts evolved naturally out of his enthusiasm and love for painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture. Geden has been teaching full-time at Nipissing since 2003. He has shown his work extensively in group and solo exhibitions in Canada, the United States, Britain and Europe. Geden began printmaking when he grasped an opportunity to create lithographs at Atelier Desjobert in Paris over the winter of 1972-73, with support from the Canada Council for the Arts. He then lived in London, England, to create lithos at Curwen Studio in 1975, with help from the Ontario Arts Council.
