POSITION TITLE: Camp Supervisor

EMPLOYMENT DATES: Part Time throughout 2023 – dates discussed upon hire
HOURS OF WORK: Varies. Discussed upon hire. Up to full time hours in the summer.
RATE OF PAY: $25.00/hour + Vacation as determined by HR policy
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Extended Learning is seeking professionals interested in developing and supervising day camps for community youth ages 5 – 16 years old. Camp Supervisors will be responsible in the development and execution of daily plans and overseeing the successful rollout of their camp with the support from Extended Learning and key team members at Nipissing University. Camps may run anytime during 2023 including but limited to, school board professional development days, March break, weekends, and weekdays through the summer.
Space, liability forms, registration processes, marketing and any necessary supplies will be provided to Camp Supervisors for the safe and successful implementation of their youth camp(s).
The successful candidates will support all Camp Leaders designated to their camp and will report to the Manager of Extended Learning.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
The Camp Supervisors may be expected to perform some or all the following duties:
- Respond in a timely manner to any questions/concerns received by parents/guardians
- Develop and execute full day plans
- Gather all necessary materials once approved by the Manager of Extended Learning and submit receipts for reimbursement
- Responsible for sign in/sign out of all campers
- Responsible for tracking/submitted incident reports
- Responsible for differentiated instruction for campers of various ages
- Ensure all Nipissing University policies and procedures are followed
- Supervise all Camp Leaders and/or Volunteers designated to their camp
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Creativity, initiative, and strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- The ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to navigate learning needs of campers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 years experience working with youth in an educational setting
- Valid First Aid certificate
- Concussion Training
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check (12 months or newer at the time of camp delivery)

- Preferred date(s) of delivery (e.g., PD camps, weekend, 5-day summer camp)
