Nipissing University makes ongoing offers of admission starting as early as January rather than making admission decisions in separate rounds. We continue to make offers of admission through to June when midterm/interim and final grades are received from the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC).

Deadline to Apply
Ontario secondary school students are expected to submit application forms to the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) by this date.
January – May
Check your mailbox! Offers of Admission are made during this period. All offers will be conditional on:
- Completion of your Ontario Secondary School diploma or equivalent;
- Completion of six 4U/4M courses or equivalent, including prerequisites;
- Minimum final average of 70% for all programs except History with an Orientation to a Master of Arts in History (80%). Final averages are calculated using the best six final 4U/4M grades, including program prerequisites.

- Ontario secondary school students
- Nipissing continues to accept new applications between January 15 and April 1.
- Submit any changes to your program choices by this date.
- Canadian secondary school students
- Submit all applications to the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) by this date.
- International applicants
- If you are an international student (except current Ontario high school applicants) studying in Canada (on a study permit) or studying in another country (no status in Canada), you should apply using the Nipissing International Application portal and follow all application deadlines indicated there.
- Missed the deadline?
- Late applications may be considered after April 1 with the exception of limited enrollment programs (BScN, OMAH and BPHE).

Offers to limited enrolment programs
Offers of Admission to limited enrolment programs (Nursing, OMAH, and Physical and Health Education) are made during this time period.

Entrance Awards Applications due date
You do not have to wait for an Offer of Admission to apply for the Chancellors Scholarships, Schulich Scholarships, and all awards and bursaries. Forms can be found at www.nipissingu.ca/studentfinancialservices.

Response Date
Secondary school applicants should receive one of three responses from Nipissing:
- Offer of Admission to your program of choice or an Alternate Offer; or
- Delay of decision notification pending your response to our letter of request for specific additional information; or
- Refusal.
Secondary school students receiving a full-time Offer of Admission by this date are eligible for a guaranteed spot in residence.

Residence application and deposit due
Guarantee your spot in residence! The Offer of Admission package you received from us will provide instructions on how to apply and make online payments. Requests for special accommodations in residence through Accessibility Services should also be completed by this date.

Registration information emailed to you
This information will explain the process of selecting the courses you will take and will provide further details about your New Student Orientation event.
July
New Student Orientation (NSO)
Students starting in September attend NSO in July. NSO is a one-day program for new students, including mature andtransfer students, who are starting programs in September. You will be contacted directly with an invitation to attend. Child care is provided.
Students starting on-campus programs with a summer or winter entry are connected directly to a Student Experience Coordinator who will identify all of the support services and programs available.
Distance and off-campus students receive notification of available support services and programs through their Program Administrators.
