Admission to a Second Degree

If you have completed an undergraduate degree from a recognized university and wish to complete a second degree you may apply for admission consideration as a Second Degree applicant. The second degree applied to must be in another area of study. Second Degree applicants will be required to present program specific prerequisites (if applicable) for admission consideration. If admitted, residency requirements will apply.

Program Specific Admission Information

Bachelor of Physical and Health Education (BPHE)

Applicants to a second degree in BPHE must present the appropriate prerequisite subjects either through courses taken in high school or within your first degree. BPHE is a limited enrollment program.  Admission consideration will be based on the overall average of your first degree. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (4-year North Bay)

Applicants to a second degree in Nursing must present the appropriate prerequisite subjects either through courses taken in high school or within their first degree. Nursing is a highly competitive limited enrollment program. Admission consideration will be based on the overall average of your first degree. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

A second degree in Nursing may require the repeating of core credits taken in the first degree, if they are more than 10 years old.

Program Exceptions

Concurrent Education

Second degree applicants may not apply for a second degree with Concurrent Education.  Degree holders interested in becoming a teacher should apply for admission consideration to the Consecutive Bachelor of Education program.

Bachelor of Arts in History with an Orientation to a Master of Arts in History (OMAH)

Admission to OMAH is only available to applicants who have completed 30 credits or less of undergraduate course work. Degree holders interested in pursuing a Master of Arts in History should apply for admission to graduate studies.
