RATE OF PAY: $17.20/HR + Vacation pay as determined by HR policy

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Residence Life Assistant supports the residential living experience of students aiding in the planning, implementation and facilitation of residence life events, promotions and programming. The Residence Life Assistant works with a number of professional staff, on a variety of portfolios, with emphasis on orientation program planning and preparation of processes and resources for the new academic term.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
The Residence Life Assistant will support the Residence Life team by assisting with:
- Administrative and programming preparations for 2025/2026 academic year; including updating of documents, inventory and preparation of resources
- Residence Life Team Training preparations; including pre-service and August training events
- Residence Orientation and transition programs (including New Student Orientation and Residence Orientation Weekend)
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to attend the Residence Life Peer Educator Selection Process on February 1st, 2025.
- Familiarity with standard computer software and, organizational proficiency.
- Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
- Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
- Knowledge of Nipissing University programs, initiatives, and services that promote student academic and personal success.
Optional Opportunity:
Shared residence accommodation may be provided as a taxable benefit in lieu of working on-call duty shifts for supervision of residence during summer months (min. 4 on-call shifts/month to a max. 10 on-call shifts/month).
