RATE OF PAY: $17.20/hour + Vacation pay as determined by HR policy

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Residence Admissions Assistant will be responsible for contributing to the development of marketing and communications materials for the Residence Life department. Key tasks include reading through professional standards, writing text for communications, re-writing current documents, assisting in decision making on methods of communication (website vs. paper vs. social media), developing social media accounts and beginning postings, developing posters for use within residence. Further, the assistant will aid in the development of the admissions package to be released to all incoming residents.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
The Residence Admissions Assistant will support the Residence Life department by assisting with:
- Administrative support to the residence admissions department including responding to inquiries via, email, telephone and social media
- Development, review and editing of promotional and informational materials issued on behalf of the department
- Research and development of marketing materials, addressing the needs and interests of a variety of student cohorts
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to attend the Residence Life Peer Educator Selection Process onFebruary 1st, 2025.
- Familiarity with standard computer software and, organizational proficiency.
- Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
- Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
- Knowledge of Nipissing University programs, initiatives, and services that promote student academic and personal success.
Optional Opportunity:
Shared residence accommodation may be provided as a taxable benefit in lieu of working on-call duty shifts for Conference Services Department (min. 4 on-call shifts/month to a max. 10 on-call shifts/month).
