POSITION TITLE: Print Plus Student Assistant
CLOSING DATE: Open until Filled
EMPLOYMENT DATES: May to August 31, 2025
HOURS OF WORK: Average 35 hours per week
RATE OF PAY: $17.20 per hour plus Vacation Pay as determined by HR policy
*This position is subject to budgetary approval*
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The student assistant is an integral part of the in-house print shop team. Their assistance allows the Print Shop to offer a high level of customer service to meet the diverse print needs of university staff, faculty, students, as well as external clients.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Have well developed customer services skills communicating in person and via telephone
- Be able to provide a variety of services to our clients, including high-volume printing/copying, binding, scanning
- Have an ability to solve problems and work under pressure
- Be able to lift heavy objects (boxes of paper)
- Be comfortable performing standard equipment maintenance
- Provide customer service, handle cash, debit & credit card transactions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a customer service-oriented environment
- Familiarity with standard computer software (MS Office, Adobe)
- Ability to work as a key member of a high functioning team
- Experience handling cash would be considered an asset
- Familiarity with print shop equipment is not necessary but would be considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and as a key member of a high functioning team.
- Self-motivated
