SJSH takes 2024 Nipissing Business Case Challenge
On October 28th, the School of Business hosted their annual Business Case Challenge which welcomes local high school business students to present on a never-before-seen business case for the chance to win the Business Case Challenge Bowl. Over 50 students from and St Joseph Scollard Hall, Chippewa Intermediate & Secondary School and École Secondaire Catholique Algonquin participated in the all-day event.
This year’s case asked students to come up with unique marketing ideas to bring in more customers to their fictitious indoor ice rink, located in a small Northern Ontario city. All students represented themselves commendably in the competition.
The School of Business would like to congratulate Vivian Stephens, Isabelle Desjardins Fleury, Giovanni Schiavo and Cloudberry Uta'naaq, from Ms. Hailey Courtemanche’s class at St Joseph Scollard Hall for placing first in the Business Challenge!
These students were presented with the Nipissing Business Challenge Bowl and will receive $500 towards tuition at Nipissing University.
All first-year School of Business students are required to take Introductory Financial Accounting I - ACCT 1106 and Introductory Financial Accounting II - ACCT 1107.
Some students who have never taken accounting before can find these courses challenging as they do not have a strong foundation in the basic accounting rules and terminology. This self assessment quiz will help give you an idea of what will be covered.
There are two PDF files below that you may download. One file contains the quiz and the other file contains the answer key.
