International Women’s Week at Nipissing

Thursday March 7, features Critical Conversations - Strategies for Decolonization, withSherene Razack: “What does it mean to die all this death?”: The Deaths of Aboriginal people in Police Custody; and Martin Cannon: Polishing the (Covenant) Chain: Education for Social Justice, Colonial Reparations, and Change.Nipissing University President Mike DeGagné will serve as moderator.The discussion takes place from 7 – 8:30 p.m. in the Nipissing Theatre (F213).Can’t make it?Check out the live feed, here.
The discussion keeps rolling on Friday, March 8, withCritical Conversations Continued - Coffee, Meet and Greet in the Enji Giigdoyang Aboriginal Initiatives Office (room F215) from 1 – 2p.m.
Following that, you can check out a workshop and discussion titled Decolonizing Nipissing University with Terry Dokis, Erin Dokis, Catherine Murton Stoehr and others, in room A224 from 2 – 4 p.m.
IWW 2013 wraps up on Saturday night, March 9, at the Capitol Centre withWhen Will You Rage?, the heroic story of one Indigenous woman recovering her future by exploring the legacy of intergenerational trauma. Choreographed by Penny Couchie, the performance starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $20; or $10 for students and seniors.
