Geraldine Govender - Round Dance Teaching
Geraldine Govender joins us from Moose Factory to speak about traditional protocol surrounding Round Dance ceremony and its significance. She will discuss the roles of women in the round dance ceremony, the preparation of the feast, and touch on moon time, among other topics. This practical talk on the Do’s and Don’ts of Round Dances will be followed by a question-and-answer period.
Participants wanting to volunteer at the upcoming Minweyaang Round Dance, taking place this Saturday, March 4th, in the Canadore Gym at Nipissing University, are invited to remain online after Geraldine's presentation to discuss available opportunities to support the event. Staff from the Office of Indigenous Initiatives will be online to discuss schedules and tasks available.
