Remembering Dr. George Zytaruk
My NipissingNipissing University offers condolences to the family and friends of Dr. George Zytaruk, who passed away on April 12. A visionary academic and administrator, Dr. Zytaruk was Nipissing’s founding president, moving from Alberta to North Bay to head the institution in 1967. He was a member of the "Group of Seven," Nipissing’s founding faculty members, and was responsible for hiring the other six members. -

Celebrate Leadership: Nominations sought for 2025 Dave Marshall Leadership Awards
Each year, Nipissing University recognizes exceptional leaders through the Dave Marshall Leadership Awards (DMLA). Help us celebrate the leaders who are inspiring change on campus and beyond by nominating a deserving student by January 31, 2025. Annually, 25 full-time students are recognized with a Dave Marshall Leadership Award. These students have made an outstanding extracurricular contribution to their academic program, to the campus, or to the greater community. They have demonstrated leadership, initiative, commitment, and an ability to motivate and influence others toward the betterment of Nipissing University.
