The School of Business at Nipissing University invites applications for 3 (three) Limited-Term Appointment (LTA) positions, each for a duration of 10 months, effective from August 15, 2024. The available positions are as follows: 1) Administration, 2) Organizational Studies and 3) Finance. These positions are in North Bay, Ontario.

The School of Business is one of the most dynamic academic units at Nipissing University and offers a wide array of undergraduate certificate, diploma, and degree programs (B. Comm, BBA) and Post Baccalaureate Diplomas in Business, in both on campus and distance delivery modes. The school, situated within the Faculty of Education & Professional Studies, has a strong reputation for being student-centric and for providing “more than a degree”. For the Administration position, the successful candidate must possess:

  1. Near completion or completion of a PhD with an emphasis in general business administration/management area or business related field.
  2. An MBA or equivalent master’s degree in business administration/management area or business related field.
  3. A successful track record of teaching post-secondary general management courses.
  4. Relevant professional industry experience and/or a professional designation would be an added advantage.  

The successful candidate will have a teaching intensive workload of six (6) courses in general administration that may include some of the following courses:

  1. ADMN 2167 - Business Decision Making
  2. ADMN 1606  - Business Mathematics
  3. ADMN 2606  - Business Statistics
  4. ADMN 2716  - Change Management and Innovation

For the Organizational Studies position, the successful candidate must possess:

  1. Near completion of completion of a PhD with an emphasis in Human Resources Management (HRM) and/or Organizational Behavior (OB) or business related field.
  2. An MBA or equivalent master’s degree in HRM/OB area or business related field.
  3. A successful track record of teaching post-secondary organizational studies courses.
  4. Relevant professional experience in Human Resource Management and/or a professional designation such as CHRP, CHRL or equivalent would be an added advantage.  

The successful candidate will have a teaching intensive workload of six (6) courses in organizational studies  that may include some of the following courses:

  1. ORGS 1136  - Introduction to Organizational Behavior
  2. ORGS 1137  - Management of Human Resources
  3. ORGS 3146  - Compensation and Rewards
  4. ORGS 3247  - Human Resources Planning

For Finance position, the successful candidate must possess:

  1. A terminal degree in the Finance area such as an MBA or equivalent master’s degree.
  2. A professional designation such as a CFA, CPA or equivalent.
  3. A successful track record of teaching post-secondary finance courses.
  4. Relevant professional industry experience would be an added advantage.  

The successful candidate will have a teaching intensive workload of 6 courses in finance that may  include some of the following courses:

  1. FINC 3116  - Financial Management 1 
  2. FINC 2406  - Principles of Finance with Excel
  3. FINC 3907  - Insurance and Risk Management
  4. FINC 4116  - Financial Derivatives
  5. FINC 4706  - Fin. Portfolio and Wealth Management
  6. FINC 4917 - Entrepreneurial Finance

The annual salary will correspond with qualifications and experience and will follow the Nipissing University Faculty Association (NUFA) Collective Agreement. The appointments will be effective August 15, 2024.
