NU Brantford celebrating with Canadian Cancer Society

The Nipissing University Student Ambassadors (NUSA) and the Canadian Cancer Society are celebrating together with 10 for 10, a fundraiser that celebrates a decade of education for Nipissing in Brantford and the Canadian Cancer Society’s 75 anniversary, on April 5, 2013.
Between 4 -6 p.m. at Nipissing’s 50 Wellington St. building in Brantford, students, staff, faculty and community members will help in the fight against cancer by cutting and donating their hair, shaving their head in support, or waxing their legs. Participants have been raising pledges since the beginning of March, with the goal to raise $10,000 for the 10th anniversary in Brantford.

“This will be my third time donating my hair, but the first time I’ve been involved in an event because of the hair donation,” said Shawna Carroll, Nipissing Brantford Anniversary Coordinator. “I’m excited to be a part of something that will help make a difference.”

The event is open to everyone.  Donations will be accepted at the door.

Nipissing University is excited to celebrate its ten years of post-secondary education in Brantford. This event will involve the post-secondary institutions in Brantford, as well as all of the Brantford community members and businesses who continue to support Nipissing University Brantford.
