Nipissing University’s Brantford campus wrapped up their anniversary celebrations on April 5, with a successful fundraiser, raising more than $8,500 for the Canadian Cancer Society.Organized by the Nipissing University Student Ambassadors (NUSA), the event also collected seven locks of hair, equalling 84 inches, and included 15 participants who cut, shaved and waxed in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. The winner of the Blackberry 10 gift certificate was fifth-year student, Miriam Akram, who also donated her hair as a participant. While students and participants were getting cut, shaved or waxed, they were treated to the music of The Candidates, a band featuring four Bachelor of Education students.  More than 200 guests participated, cheered, laughed and donated. NUSA extends a thank you to everyone who supported this event.
