Common Book Common Ground reception

Nipissing’s Faculty of Applied and Professional Studies hosted a reception on October 4, to mark the anniversary of Henrietta Lacks’ death. Lacks is the key subject in the book selected for this year’s Common Book Common Ground project: The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot.
Students, faculty and community members all participated in the reception. A card and a letter were circulated and signed by many of the guests. They will be sent to Lacks’ family in the near future.
