NU360 Speaker Night highlights breadth of research at NipissingU

Nipissing University’s annual NU360 Speaker Night brought together students, faculty, and community members on March 4, 2025, at the NUSU Student Centre for an evening of inspiration and innovation. The event showcased outstanding faculty presenters who had just 360 seconds to share their expertise and insights on an array of topics.

After an engaging night of thought-provoking talks, Dr. Alison Schinkel-Ivy, Kinesiology Professor at Nipissing University was announced as the winner for her presentation, ‘70 is the new 30’: Exploring biomechanical changes across adulthood. Her research captivated the panel of judges – composed of local high school students from West Ferris Secondary School and St. Joseph-Scollard Hall – with its insight, originality, and impact.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to showcase my research and connect with my peers and the North Bay community,” said Dr. Schinkel-Ivy. “Being part of such an inspiring event and esteemed group of speakers has made this experience unforgettable.”

The audience also had the chance to weigh in, selecting Lawyers, Guns, and Money (and Historians) by Dr. Nathan Kozuskanich as the winner of the People's Choice Award. His engaging and thought-provoking presentation resonated with attendees, sparking insightful discussions following his presentation.
