Duties:

  • Responsible for all instruction and evaluation for the portion of the course to which they are assigned
  • Will be available to meet with students outside of the official classroom time
  • Complete mandatory training requirements, review and follow Nipissing University's policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • PhD in health or health related field preferred
  • Combination of a Masters in health or health related field and professional experience with a focus on evaluating health and social service systems, in particular, community-based programs focused on child and family health and well-being, including developmental, behavioural, mental health, and/or child welfare programs.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in evaluating programs and a deep understanding of formative and summative evaluation, implementation science, outcomes management, and health policy analysis.
  • Experience with programs supporting children and families, including developmental, behavioural, and/or mental health programs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with implementation science.
  • Experience with program and policy development.
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse community stakeholders.
  • Must have experience with/background in:
    • frameworks of program evaluation and clinical outcomes management (e.g., continuous quality improvement, clinical outcomes management)
    • suitable evaluation methods most appropriate to question of interest
    • formative, summative, process/implementation, impact/outcomes, cost/benefit analyses
    • quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methodology/data approaches for specific projects
    • principles of program evaluation (e.g., theory-based, utilization-focused, participatory)
    • systematic application of scientific methods to assess the design, implementation, improvement and/or outcomes of a program
    • program strengths/needs assessments and environmental scans
    • program design and development activities to ensure successful replication
    • information management and record keeping in evaluating and improving the quality of professional practices, and/or enhancing the capacity of community
    • based programs and services
    • ethical principles and guidelines in program evaluation and interacting with community partners
    • adherence to the Canadian Evaluation Society competencies and principles of practice, including the incorporation of Indigenous perspectives and approaches in evaluation practice
