Congratulations! You’ve finished your program and are ready to graduate!
All graduates who have completed their programs and have been approved to graduate will receive an e-mail from the Registrar's Office at least two weeks before their ceremony with further instructions and information.
Plan to arrive 90 minutes prior to the ceremony’s scheduled start time. The graduand procession will begin 20 minutes before the ceremony, so it’s important that you arrive on time.
Pick up your gown and hood in the RJ Surtees Student Athletics Centre. There is no need to reserve your regalia and there is no charge. You will be given instructions when you line up for the graduand procession.
- Bring photo ID with you to pick-up your degree
- Leave valuables with your guests prior to the start of the ceremony
- The ceremony is approximately 90 minutes long
- Smile! You did it!
ACCESSIBILITY AT CONVOCATION
The ceremony is held on a ramped stage for both entrance and exit. Staff is available at the ceremony to assist with any other concerns. For accessibility inquiries, please contact email@example.com
Reserved accessible seating is available for guests with accessibility requirements. Please contact the university in advance if you are planning to bring a stroller so that extra seating space can be arranged. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 705.474.3450 ext. 4285.
All washrooms are accessible within the Robert J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre (where the ceremony is held).
Additional accessible washrooms are located:
- in the front foyer near the Registrar's Office (near F213)
- beside the Education Centre Cafeteria (1st floor)
- in the Harris Learning Library (all three floors)
- near A244 (main campus)
- near H105 (main campus)

Individual gender neutral washrooms are available in the:

Guests are welcome to bring their own personal assistive device.
Limited numbers of courtesy wheelchairs can be reserved in advance by contacting email@example.com or calling 705.474.3450 ext. 4285. The courtesy wheelchair must be returned to the Accessibility Services area at the side of the gym once the Convocation ceremony is complete.
Red Cross personnel and staff from Accessibility Services will be in attendance at each Convocation ceremony (in the Robert J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre) to offer assistance.

Your Nipissing University Alumni Advisory Board (NUAAB) is an integral part of the University community. REGALIA (GOWN & HOOD)
The Pick-Up and Drop-Off Room for graduates will be in Fitness Room #2 in the RJ Surtees Student Athletics Centre. Volunteers will be on hand to assist with sizing and further instructions.
Graduates do not need to pre-order their regalia (gown & hood) and there is no charge for renting the regalia.
TICKETS / GUESTS
There are no tickets. Graduates are encouraged to limit their guests to 6 to allow all graduates to bring their supporters. Please note, the seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

PICK UP YOUR DEGREE
Graduates must pick up their degree AFTER THE CEREMONY in Fitness Room #2.
Students will be asked to present their I.D. card and will also be required to "sign" for their degree.
Parking is free for the ceremonies; please follow the signs on campus.
Accessible Parking is reserved for Lot 4 (Visitor's Parking).
Guests are encouraged to park in Lots 1 & 5.
DIPLOMA FRAMES, GIFTS, FLOWERS
The Campus Book Store will be set up in the lobby of the RJ Surtees Student Athletic Centre, as well as Jostens Rings and Convocation Flowers.
Pre-order your diploma frames HERE and jump to the front of the line to pick them up after the ceremony.
Proudly display your degree with a custom Nipissing University degree frame. Proceeds from sales are used to support on-going student programs, scholarships and services through NUSA.
Degree frames are available for purchase all year and make great gifts!

Heritage Photography will be on site during Convocation for those who missed the opportunity to have graduation portraits taken earlier in the year. They will be located in Fitness Room #1.
The photos will be taken on a first come, first served basis.
