Welcome to Liberal Arts at Nipissing University
Students in Nipissing’s Liberal Arts program enjoy the flexibility of being able to design their own degree. Nipissing’s Liberal Arts program emphasizes breadth rather than specialization and allows individuals to develop a program that is suited to their personal interests and goals.
Bachelor of Arts (Three-year Liberal)
Students in the Liberal Arts program complete a minor (18 credits) in each of the two disciplines of their choice. One discipline will be in an academic area from the Humanities or Social Science groups. The second discipline will be chosen from the Humanities, Business, Science or Social Science groups.
Students who are interested in a wide-range of disciplines, and would like to focus on several of them, should consider this degree since it provides the flexibility to satisfy a curiosity about a number of different fields of study.
Centre for Interdisciplinary Collaboration in the Arts and Sciences (CICAS)
CICAS positions itself as a strategic hub for interdisciplinary, collaborative research and innovation in the Northern Ontario region.

The Harris Learning Library
The Harris Learning Library was completed in 2011 and provides 56,000 square feet of study space with natural light and a modern award-winning design. The new library features expanded print collections, a learning commons, an adaptive technology area, and collaborative work spaces.
