Nursing prof recognized with Pat Griffin Research Grant
GeneralSchool of NursingResearchThe Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) has announced that Dr. Sandra Goldsworthy, professor in Nipissing University’s School of Nursing, is one of the recipients of the Pat Griffin Research Grants and $15,000 in funding. The Pat Griffin Research Grant supports research with a priority of “Nursing Education Outcomes” from the National Research Priorities for Nursing. -

NU faculty, students participate in International Death Festival
GeneralLast month, Nipissing University was an official sponsor of the International 'Lifting the Lid' Death Festival. Dr. Susan Srigley, Professor and Program Chair of Religions and Cultures at Nipissing, partnered with her colleagues in the United Kingdom, Jo Dagless and Victoria Keen, who founded the event. . A total of 1300 people registered for the festival from 42 countries with 157 collaborators and presenters. -

GeneralToday marks a milestone anniversary for Nipissing University as it celebrates 30 years as an independent institution. With roots that extend back to the 1900s with the North Bay Normal School, Nipissing University, formally known as “Nipissing University College”, was an affiliate of Laurentian University. It received its charter as an independent university on December 10, 1992. -

Dr. Barbi Law appointed Associate Vice-President, Research, Innovation and Graduate Studies at Nipissing University
Nipissing University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Barbi Law as Associate Vice-President, Research, Innovation, and Graduate Studies (AVP, RIGS) for a five-year term, effective August 1, 2024. As a member of the University’s leadership team, Dr. Law will play a key role in advancing innovative research, fostering excellence in graduate education, and building relationships with community and industry to grow Nipissing’s research enterprise.
