Engaging our students in research is a high priority and is a combined function of our philosophy of education, the size of our institution, and the dedication of our faculty to involving students in all aspects of academic and creative activity. We are committed to supporting existing individual and collaborative research. A significant proportion of research activity is focused on a variety of environmental, cultural, and societal issues specific to the Near North.

In addition, Nipissing University is expanding its research capacity in line with the priorities established in the Strategic Plan "Academic Excellence." Funding support is required to assist in the acquisition of laboratories, equipment and other infrastructure. There are also opportunities also to establish research chairs in support of some of the University's unique and leading edge research. More details are available through the Office of Advancement.
