Set in a picture-perfect landscape, Nipissing University is located in beautiful North Bay, Ontario, just a 3.5 hour drive north of Toronto or 4 hours west of Ottawa. Our Corporate Events Team is available year-round to assist you with planning your next conference or event.Whether your event is large or small, we have a variety of modern and functional spaces to suit your unique needs.


Working with various departments on campus, we will guide you through all logistical aspects of your event, making planning easy and convenient. We can assist with securing accommodations, catering services, parking, audio visual requirements, classroom and meeting space rentals, and more!


North Bay is a friendly, mid-sized city surrounded by lakes and stunning, natural vistas. Public transportation to North Bay includes daily bus service and air connections. Airbus services are also available to Lester B. Pearson Airport in Toronto. North Bay’s Jack Garland Airport is just a ten minute drive from the University.

R.J. SURTEES STUDENT ATHLETICS CENTRE GYMNASIUM

The Robert J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre is one of the most state-of-the-art athletics facilities in Ontario.


Complete with change rooms, cardio and weight rooms, a fitness studio, three gymnasiums, two squash courts, and a large boardroom, our Athletics Centre is an ideal multi-purpose space for events of all sizes.

With an outdoor courtyard, large open-concept atrium, gallery space, and full service restaurant, the Nipissing University Student Union (NUSU) Student Centre is the perfect multi-use venue for hosting your next event. Be sure to ask about our catering services!

In need of a larger space for your event? Consider the Vittorio Fedeli Business Centre which seats 120 people or the Nipissing Theatre which offers seating for 222 people.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Below is some additional information for your next booking:

  • Catering

    We would be happy to coordinate catering on your behalf. A $200.00 catering coordination fee applies.

  • Parking

    Paid Parking is in effect on campus Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Parking rates are $1.25 per hour or $5.75 per day. Guests of the University must purchase and display a valid parking pass at one of the Pay-and-Display metres.  Guests also have the option to purchase hourly, daily, or weekly passes at the parking metre.  

  • Audio Visual Needs

    All classrooms are equipped with audio visual (AV) resources which are included in the space rental cost. Wi-Fi is free, and open, throughout our buildings. Pending availability, on-site AV and tech support, can be coordinated (at an additional cost.) 


  • Insurance

    Prior to securing space on campus, we require a copy of your certificate of insurance ($5 million liability), naming Nipissing University on the certificate for the date(s) of your booking. Alternatively, should a certificate not be available, with advance notice, the university can request coverage for your event under the University's insurance policy with competitive rates.

  • Cleaning

    Cleaning support for events is available with advance notice, and our team of expert coordinators can help determine the cleaning requirements to best support your event. The cost of having a cleaner dedicated to your event is $350.00 per cleaner per 7-hour shift.

  • Overnight Accommodations

    Should your guests require overnight accommodations on campus (mid-May to early August), you can arrange details regarding rates and availability through stay@nipissingu.ca.
