PSYCHOLOGY 1107
Introductory Psychology II
IMPORTANT NOTICES
Please examine this page carefully now and regularly during the term.
A substantial number of students need to get their asses in gear!
Midterm exams grades were less than impressive, so more serious preparation for the final is strongly recommended.
Attendance appears to be down, despite the fact that the lecture content counts for 40% of the final exam.
Students are responsible for actually really reading the textbook, which midterm exam results suggest is not happening.
The number of students failing to meet deadlines or even bother to do lab assignments doesn't augur well.
We want you to do well. Please don't disappoint us.
Please remember the following rules will be strictly enforced.
- Students are not to attend lecture (or lab) sessions other than the ones in which they are registered.
- Students are not to enter the lecture theatre after a lecture has begun. If you are late, wait for the break to join the class.
- Students are not to leave a lecture in progress without prior permission.
- Students are not to access cell phones, computers or iPods during lecture without explict prior permission.
- Students are not to talk to their neighbours during a lecture, including during audio or video presentations.
- Students who miss a lecture should download the PowerPoints for the lecture and get someone's notes to fill it out. Students are entirely responsible for making up for any missed classes.
- Students are entirely and solely responsible for the textbook readings, and should study the textbook material on a lecture theme before the lecture.
- Students should contact Stephenie Hevenor regarding any questions concerning labs, term papers, or grade records.
- Students who miss deadlines are dead meat. We have no sympathy and accept no excuses.
- Students who have any serious, justified problems regarding anything above should contact either Steph or Ken immediately or before the problem interfers with abiding by these rules. After the fact excuses will be ignored.
Review the syllabus. It has all the rules and guidelines, and you are responsible for knowing them and abiding by them. Note: If there ever isn't sufficient time in class to present some audio and video components in any lecture unit, or there are technical problems that prevent the in-class presentation, Internet addresses that link to the source materials can be found on the PowerPoint slides for the unit. Students are still responsible for this material, so they should follow the links and view or listen to the material!
